Confirmed: Racing Dreams documentary premiering on PBS in February [w/video]

Filed under: Motorsports , Etc. , Videos Racing Dreams is an award-winning documentary that follows the racing exploits of three go-kart racing youths chasing an entry into the world of NASCAR. As we reported before, when Racing Dreams took the podium at the Tribeca Film Festival , Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson got behind this project as executive producer, and now this documentary is making its broadcast premiere on Thursday, February 23 at 9 PM on Public Television. The PBS documentary series POV (Point Of View) will also stream the movie on its website for a month following the debut.

Report: Ford to pay bonuses and raises, GM and Chrysler decline to do same

Filed under: Chrysler , Ford , Earnings/Financials , Canada Ford has announced that it will give both bonuses and merit-based raises to the company’s salaried workers in the United States and Canada for the first time since 2008, according to Reuters . On average, the manufacturer will offer a 2.7 percent salary increase based on individual performance. The company stopped offering the bonuses after the financial crisis of 2009 sent automotive sales into a plunge.

Auctions: Barrett-Jackson 2012: One of two Devon GTX supercars reaches bid of $200,000 [w/video]

Filed under: Coupe , Performance , Auctions , Specialty Way back in 2009 , a small but hopeful automaker called Devon Motorworks came to life with a somewhat shocking vehicle that it planned to sell as a true bespoke American supercar. Sadly, and for a number of reasons (not the least of which was the bankruptcy of its major parts donor), the Devon GTX never made it into the hands of the public. That doesn’t mean Devon never assembled any cars. As you can see, there’s at least one Devon GTX thundering down the road.

First up was the 570 and 570X Challenger , followed soon after by the 302 Mustang . Now, Steve Saleen’s muscle car trifecta is finally complete, as SMS officially unveiled the 620 Camaro at Barrett-Jackson this week.
