Confirmed: Honda recalling over 125,000 Goldwing motorcycles

Filed under: Etc. , Recalls , Honda , Motorcycle Honda and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have issued a recall for certain Goldwing motorcycles. Some bikes manufactured between 2001 and 2010 may have been built with a secondary master cylinder that could cause the rear brake to drag. We probably don’t need to tell you that unwarranted, additional rear braking on a motorcycle is a bad thing, and NHTSA says that prolonged brake drag could cause a crash or a fire.

Honda delaying next CR-V

Filed under: Etc. , Japan , Plants/Manufacturing , Crossover , Honda According to Bloomberg , Honda has delayed the release of the next-generation CR-V as a result of supplier constriction brought on by the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear tragedies in Japan. The report says that the 2012 Honda CR-V will debut a month later than originally anticipated, though that model won’t be the only vehicle in the Japanese automaker’s stable impacted by the events.

Fuel economy is likely to improve from the current CR-V’s figure; front-wheel drive models may even hit 30 mpg on the highway, up from the current 28 mpg. C/D suggests that the current CR-V’s 180 horsepower output is probably not subject to change

Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf earn Top Safety Picks in first IIHS electric vehicle crash tests

Testing procedures for these plug-in vehicles were exactly the same as for any other automobile the IIHS tests, as they should be. The two plug-in pioneers join 80 other 2011 vehicles in earning the Top Safety Pick title, thanks to their fine performance in instrumented crash testing and their standard electronic stability control. For what it’s worth, other fuel sippers like the 2010 Toyota Prius and 2010 Honda Insight have also been named Top Safety Picks in the past.

Report: Honda recallying 2,277 Accord and CR-V models over wiring problem

2010 Honda Accord Sedan – Click above for high-res image gallery According to USA Today , Honda has announced that it is recalling 2,277 Accord and CR-V models for an electrical coupling that may have been damaged while the engine was being installed in the vehicles. If this is the case, the engine could stall during normal operation. The condition impacts certain 2010 Accord and CR-V models, and as of right now, no injuries or accidents have been reported due to the problem.
