Video: Man power-washes his new Mercedes-Benz CLS – inside

Filed under: Sedan , Etc. , Europe , Videos , Mercedes-Benz , Diesel , Luxury We aren’t entirely sure what’s happening here. It seems a Macedonian man took his brand-new 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 CDI to the car wash and decided the interior could use some freshening up, too. Instead of doing what every other Mercedes owner would do and busting out the Armor All, this guy asked the detailers to take the power washer to the interior of his brand-new Mercedes-Benz .

2011 Mercedes-Benz S550

2011 Mercedes-Benz S550 There’s not a car out there as cool and collected and under-the-radar as the S-class. If you value agility and sportiness in your luxury car, check out the BMW 7-series, Jaguar XJ, or Porsche Panamera. Of course, if you really value agility and sportiness, check out something smaller than a massive luxury sedan. That’s why I’d pass over those other fine-driving machines in favor of a Mercedes-Benz S-class if I were buying a large luxury sedan

Official: Mercedes-Benz Viano Vision Pearl concept van sets sail for Frankfurt

Filed under: Concept Cars , Frankfurt Motor Show , Minivan/Van , Europe , Mercedes-Benz , Luxury There was a time when “land yacht” was not a nice thing to say about a Buick Riviera car, but these days it seems de rigueur . Range Rover has brought in naval architects to take on their sport-ute, Rolls-Royce uses teak decking on its Phantom DHC , Audi’s gone out to see with the Q7 Coastline concept , even Volvo has given its wagons the Ocean Race theme. Now Mercedes-Benz is following the same lead with its latest show car, er…van. Benz has taken one of its Viano vans (a model not available on these shores) and turned it into the Vision Pearl concept.

We’ll agree that there’s nothing quite like the roar of a big ol’ naturally aspirated V8, but in modern times (and with new fuel efficiency laws taking hold), turbocharging points the way forward. Nearly every automaker on the planet is scrambling to create turbocharged alternatives to larger-displacement engines, and over the past few years, not offering some sort of forced-induction mill has become quite the automotive faux pas.
