As excited as they were by the ZR1 ‘s performance figures, Corvette enthusiasts balked at how a ‘Vette could cost so much. After steadily climbing since its announcement a few years ago, the Fisker Karma’s base price just breached the $100k mark . And of course the Ferrari -slaying Ford GT went for a good $150k if you could get your hands on one, and was probably worth even more

SEMA: Ford Focus hatches wicked tuner concepts

And while the Mustang and various Ford trucks play a big role in the Blue Oval booth this year, a significant part of the Motor Company’s exposition centers around the latest Focus . All-in-all, seven Focus models are on display this year. 3dCarbon has busted one out in a white matte finish with tinted windows and red accents, plus roof spoiler, Eibach springs and Pirelli rubber.

Official: Ford bringing five-door Fiesta ST concept to LA Auto Show

Filed under: Concept Cars , LA Auto Show , Performance , Hatchback , Ford Ford already debuted the Fiesta ST concept at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show , but if you recall, that show car was based on the three-door Fiesta that isn’t available here in the United States. Now, Ford is showing off a proper five-door version of the Fiesta ST, set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in two weeks. Ford still tells us that the Fiesta ST is purely a concept right now, but the fact that both three- and five-door variants of the concept have been made leads us to believe that we’ll eventually see a production version.

Official: 2012 Ford Focus Electric priced from $39,200*

Filed under: Car Buying , Hatchback , Ford , Electric The 2012 Ford Focus Electric showed up on the company website’s configurator this morning with a base price of $39,200 before state and federal incentives, plus an additional $795 for destination charges. That brings the total base starting price of the Focus Electric to $39,995. Factor in a maximum federal tax credit of $7,500 and the price falls to a more palatable $32,495. For comparison’s sake, the 2012 Nissan Leaf features a base starting price of $35,200 plus $850 for destination charges.
