Traffic deaths in U.S. fall to 60-year low
Posted by: | CommentsFiled under: Government/Legal , Safety According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration , the number of fatalities on America’s highways is at its lowest level since 1950. The number of deaths in vehicle collisions last year fell by 9.2 percent compared to 2008. As of 2009, the fatality rate has dropped to 1.13 deaths per 100 million vehicle miles traveled.

As you may recall, the promotion aims to hand out a raft of prizes, from 43 LCD flat-screen TVs to airfare, lodging and tickets to the Ford NASCAR 400 Sprint Cup race for 43 lucky grand-prize winners. Of those souls, one will be awarded a special Ford Fiesta , but should AJ Allmendinger happen to walk away with the checkers, everyone in the grand-prize lot will receive a new Fiesta to call their very own.

Report: Ford requests meeting with Lincoln dealers
Posted by: | CommentsFiled under: Ford , Lincoln , Mercury With Mercury on the way to the morgue, there are plenty of very nervous Lincoln dealers in the United States. Ford Motor Company is looking to calm those nerves a bit by inviting dealers to Dearborn, MI on October 4. Automotive News reports that The Blue Oval is going to show dealers its plans for its North American-only luxury arm. Ford spokesman Christian Bokich tells AN that the event is all about the future of Lincoln, adding “It’s more about giving dealers a look how Ford will now work with Lincoln as an exclusive, luxury brand.” There is no word at this time concerning the content being covered, but we’re expecting Ford to show future product , along with how the automaker will further differentiate the four-pointed star from the Ford brand in the years to come

OnStar turns 15, has unlocked 4.7 million doors

After unlocking 4.7 million doors and providing over 59 million turn-by-turn routes, the tech centerpiece found in General Motors ‘ vehicles is not ready to sit back and revel in the past. Ford is constantly improving its Sync system and The General is looking to move OnStar into the same league.
