SEMA 2010: Fireball Tim’s Redster is a crowd favorite

Auto Trader Classic rolled out both the 1951 Chevrolet 3100 and Fireball himself for the event. Throw in the five massive Sony touchscreens nestled in the pinstriped pickup’s bed and you’ve got a recipe for one very packed booth. With a tasty small-block V8 nestled under the hood and a Nano Nitrous set up, this machine should have no trouble putting a dent in the space-time continuum should the driver decide to get familiar with the accelerator.

It was a time when a company could film its 80-horsepower sedan driving over a railroad trestle, like the one in the picture, and not worry about getting sued when someone actually did it and ended up in the Gulf of Mexico. Chevrolet did one such vid that looked at company developments all around the country, including a bunch of octogenarian workers visiting Baltimore to receive the keys to the city.

If Saab dies, who stands to benefit? AutoTrader thinks it’s BMW and Audi

Filed under: Car Buying , Saab When General Motors announced it was sending Saab to that great Viking longboat in the sky, AutoTrader.com dug through its search database to see where bereft Saab customers would turn to for consolation. This will be a surprise to almost no one, but other European marques top the list of substitutes. BMW was the most cross-shopped vehicle among people at AutoTrader’s site looking for Saabs, with Audi a very close second, beating Volvo and Volkswagen for the next spots.
