In any case, here we are with the Infiniti M35h and Porsche Panamera S Hybrid . Each one is marketed as both a somewhat greener luxury vehicle and a performance sedan. We’d guess it’s the performance side of the equation that would be most interesting to the majority of buyers, leaving fuel efficiency a welcome bonus

Report: Ford to pay bonuses and raises, GM and Chrysler decline to do same

Filed under: Chrysler , Ford , Earnings/Financials , Canada Ford has announced that it will give both bonuses and merit-based raises to the company’s salaried workers in the United States and Canada for the first time since 2008, according to Reuters . On average, the manufacturer will offer a 2.7 percent salary increase based on individual performance. The company stopped offering the bonuses after the financial crisis of 2009 sent automotive sales into a plunge.

Study: Ford takes top honors in Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards

Filed under: Car Buying , Chrysler , Dodge , Ford , Jeep , Lincoln Polk has handed out its annual Automotive Loyalty Award for 2011, and Ford walked away with a total of six honors, including two of the highest. The Dearborn-based automaker took home the top nod in both the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award as well as the Overall Loyalty to Make award categories. The manufacturer received both awards in 2010 as well.

Detroit: Ford Fusion, Lexus LF-LC win Eyes on Design awards

Filed under: Concept Cars , Detroit Auto Show , Ford , Lexus , Design/Style Every year at the Detroit Auto Show , the Eyes on Design awards honors the best designs among production vehicles and concepts debuting that year. Unlike, say, the North American International Car and Truck of the Year awards , the only vehicles eligible for an Eyes on Design award are the ones that introduce themselves to the world – well, really just North America – in Detroit. What’s particularly interesting is that the judges for these two awards (one for production vehicles and the other for concepts) are all active or retired designers themselves, so they know a little something about the topic.
