Report: Ford scraps "Drive One" ad slogan in favor of "Go Further"

Filed under: Etc. , Marketing/Advertising , Ford Ford has adopted a new ad slogan designed to ward off complacency after successful run of nearly six years. The company is reportedly retiring its ” Drive One ” tag line for “Go Further,” which will be used in marketing campaigns in both the U.S.

Sure, there are still talks of one foreign entity or another picking up where GM and Swedish Automobile (Swan)/ Spyker left off, but even if they do, they’ll have a heck of a lot of work on their hands. And that includes rebuilding its presence in North America.

Filed under: Coupe , Performance , Auctions , Specialty Way back in 2009 , a small but hopeful automaker called Devon Motorworks came to life with a somewhat shocking vehicle that it planned to sell as a true bespoke American supercar. Sadly, and for a number of reasons (not the least of which was the bankruptcy of its major parts donor), the Devon GTX never made it into the hands of the public. That doesn’t mean Devon never assembled any cars. As you can see, there’s at least one Devon GTX thundering down the road.

Official: GM retakes global sales crown with over 9M units shifted in 2011

Just 30 months since General Motors emerged from bankruptcy, the Detroit-based automaker can once again call itself the world’s largest. GM sold just over 9 million vehicles globally in 2011, its highest sales total ever, while chief rival Toyota may slip as far as third place, according to TheDetroitBureau.com, which reports that Volkswagen will pass Toyota to claim the runner-up spot. Led by a record-setting 4.76 million sales year from Chevrolet , GM saw sales rise in all four of its reporting regions.
