Official: Porsche celebrates building 100,000th second-generation Cayenne

In fact, Porsche has produced 100,000 examples of the Cayenne – and that’s only counting the current model. The milestone unit is set to be delivered to a customer in Brazil, one of the 124 markets in which the Cayenne is currently sold in five different versions. The milestone comes at an auspicious time for Porsche, which this year celebrates 10 years of production at Leipzig , where the Cayenne and Panamera are built

Report: F1 driver Adrian Sutil to stand trial in Germany over Shanghai bar fight

Filed under: Motorsports , China , Europe , Government/Legal An impending court trial in Germany is shaping up to be the largest parade of Formula One drivers since the 2011 season wrapped up in Brazil this past November. The proceeding pits one Eric Lux (CEO of Genii Capital that owns part of Lotus Renault GP) against Adrian Sutil (a veteran grand prix driver who most recently drove for Force India ) over an alleged fight in a Shanghai night club. Now, most of us have been there and done that, but the details of this particular incident remain scarce. Apparently, during the altercation, Sutil cut Lux’s neck with a broken bottle

Filed under: Budget , Videos , Crossover , Ford We’re not all that hopeful that the next generation Ford EcoSport will make its way to North America, but global markets ranging from Brazil to India should soon get their hands on a production version of this comely B-segment crossover. It’s too bad that the Fiesta-sized EcoSport isn’t likely for our shores. We’re liking the Kinetic look and wide stance, and we’re guessing that the planned 1.0-liter EcoBoost mill should be both mildly entertaining and extremely efficient.

The vehicle wears a CUV version of the company’s Kinetic design language with a large octagonal grille and discreet headlights. Despite its concept looks, Ford says the vehicle could be in production in as little as six months. Under the hood, the EcoSport boasts the smallest Ecoboost engine ever created.

Ford Motor Company isn’t overlooking the burgeoning biennial show, and it’s taking the opportunity to reveal its first-ever world debut at the show, the next Ford EcoSport . Debuting with a sliver of show-only frosting (check out those glitzy headlamps), the tiny crossover is about the same size as the Fiesta five-door, and it’s built on the Blue Oval’s new global B-Car architecture.
