Filed under: Motorsports , Cadillac Cadillac CTS-V Coupe SCCA race car takes on all comers – Click above for high-res image gallery The last time Cadillac lined up for the World Challenge Series from 2004 to 2007, it was competing with the CTS-V sedan. As put by an understated Jim Vurpillat, Cadillac’s global head of marketing, “We’ve been here before and had some success.” The CTS-V Coupe race cars were plucked from the same line as cars headed to dealerships. By “some success,” he means that the four-door roared off with the championship in its second and fourth years. The team has a steep road to climb if they’re going to relive that kind of winning percentage with its new CTS-V Coupe, but, having watched the package shred the Long Beach circuit last weekend, there’s no doubt they have a car that will be able to do it..

Cadillac cleans up with three KBB Brand Image Awards

Filed under: BMW , Cadillac , Ford , GM , Honda , Mercedes-Benz , Toyota 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe – Click above for high-res image gallery Kelley Blue Book has announced the winners of its 2011 Brand Image awards, which are given out based on KBB data culled from a survey taken by over 12,000 in-market shoppers. Cadillac’s image must be rather strong with said shoppers, because it took home KBB hardware in three out of the 10 award categories. Constantly citing the CTS family of vehicles, KBB handed Cadillac the awards for Best Exterior Design, Best Comfort and Best Interior Design. Mercedes-Benz , Ford , Honda , Toyota and BMW snagged the rest of the 2011 Brand Image trophies

Not only that, Cadillac’s never fought in this part of the market before. The brand had monster engines back in its early days, but they were always pulling monster barges that wallowed as much as, well, barges.

Cadillac CTS-V, Jeep Grand Cherokee named 2011 Internet Car and Truck of the Year

For 2011, the CTS-V is offered in a trio of body styles, all of which boast a 556-horsepower supercharged V8 and seriously good driving dynamics. Likewise, the 2011 Grand Cherokee remains one of the best off-road vehicles in its class, and points the way forward for the “new Chrysler .” In addition to the vehicles picked by the Internet Car and Truck of the Year jurors, the motoring public was able to cast its vote for the “Average Joe” awards.

Video: Cadillac brings us behind the scenes of CTS-V Competition commercial

Now that over two years have passed, the feat will leave the geek-o-riffic world of ‘Ring time watchers and be shared with the rest of America in a commercial called The Competition. What that commercial will say or how it will be used to promote this particular bit of rather old and arcane news is to be determined, but we do know what’s behind the scenes.
