Auctions: SMS Supercars unveils 620 Camaro, auctions first example for charity at Barrett-Jackson

Auto Shows , Specialty When Steve Saleen launched his new company, SMS Supercars , back in 2008, he announced that he would be expanding his portfolio of vehicles to include the muscle car offerings from Chevrolet and Dodge . First up was the 570 and 570X Challenger , followed soon after by the 302 Mustang . Now, Steve Saleen’s muscle car trifecta is finally complete, as SMS officially unveiled the 620 Camaro at Barrett-Jackson this week.

Study: Ford takes top honors in Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards

Filed under: Car Buying , Chrysler , Dodge , Ford , Jeep , Lincoln Polk has handed out its annual Automotive Loyalty Award for 2011, and Ford walked away with a total of six honors, including two of the highest. The Dearborn-based automaker took home the top nod in both the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award as well as the Overall Loyalty to Make award categories. The manufacturer received both awards in 2010 as well.

Rumormill: Chrysler to replace Dodge Challenger with Barracuda?

Filed under: Convertible , Coupe , Performance , Etc. , Chevrolet , Dodge , Alfa Romeo , Rumormill , Fiat Motor Trend reports that Chrysler may forsake the Dodge Challenger for a resurrected Barracuda . The magazine cites two unnamed sources as saying the nameplate will surface in time to celebrate the vehicle’s 50th anniversary in 2014.

The one and only will.i.am has decided to throw his hat into the carmaking ring with a new company that he is calling IAMAUTO. So far, we have only one photo of the coupe (above), which looks a bit like a 1980s Maserati and Doc Brown’s time machine had a love child
