Report: Nissan Titan successor pushed back to 2014

Filed under: Truck , Japan , Plants/Manufacturing , Nissan It may be a while before buyers get their hands on the next-generation Nissan Titan . Automotive News reports that the vehicle has encountered engineering delays brought about by this year’s earthquake and tsunami tragedies in Japan , and now the next-gen pickup may not debut until the 2014 model year. The news comes courtesy of Andy Palmer, executive vice president for vehicle planning and program management at Nissan, who said that he made the decision to delay the vehicle’s development. As you may recall, Nissan originally planned to co-develop a successor with Chrysler .

2012 Ram pickup range updated with new gearbox, added power

Filed under: Truck , Work , Chrysler , Diesel Ram is going for broke with its 2012 truck range, increasing power in both the 5.7-liter Hemi and 6.7 Cummins diesel. The gas V8 gets a bump to 383 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The 6.7-liter Cummins diesel inline six now pushes 350 horses backed by 800 lb.-ft.

Ram HD trucks get new six-speed automatic transmission

2011 Ram Truck 2500 HD – Click above for high-res image gallery Chrysler has announced that the company’s line of heavy-duty pickups will be available with a new six-speed automatic transmission for the 2012 model year. The Ram Truck 2500 and 3500 HD models will boast the six-cog automatic along with an available 6.7-liter Cummins High Output Turbo Diesel engine with a whopping 800 pound-feet of torque at 1,500 rpm and 350 horsepower at 3,000 rpm. In 3500 trim, the combo offers a towing capacity of up to 22,750 pounds when equipped with an optional Max Tow package. Even more impressive, the Cummins oil burner manages to meet EPA emissions standards without the aggravation of having to use Diesel Exhaust Fluid.
