Auto Shows , India , MISC The Tata Nano may not be the runaway sales success the vehicle’s Indian manufacturers had hoped, but that hasn’t stopped other automakers from eying India’s blooming inexpensive vehicle segment. The country’s largest manufacturer of three wheelers is set to dip a toe into the automotive manufacturing with an all-new vehicle. The Bajaj RE60 features a water-cooled 200cc engine with around 20 horsepower, and as a result, the vehicle has a top speed of just 43 mph

Official: Renault introduces new Pulse hatchback for India

Auto Shows , Renault , India , Diesel While Renault ‘s RS27 engine was powering Sebastian Vettel’s RB7 to yet another victory at the inaugural Indian Grand Prix , Renault was also unveiling a new dedicated vehicle for the Indian market. Called the Pulse, the subcompact hatchback is built upon the same platform as the Nissan Micra at the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s assembly plant in Chennai, India.

Auto Expo 2010: Suzuki unveils SX4 Hybrid Concept, plans for 2015 production

Auto Shows , India Suzuki SX4 Hybrid Concept – Click above for high-res image gallery In addition to the cool R3 MPV , Suzuki is also showing off a new SX4 Hybrid concept vehicle at the New Delhi Motor Show . Interestingly, this SX4 uses a previously unseen hybrid system developed by Maruti Suzuki with assistance from India’s National Hybrid Propulsion Program and the (deep breath) Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sources’ High Energy Density Battery Development Program.

REPORT: Honda to premiere new small car concept at Delhi Motor Show

Just last week, Toyota made almost the exact same announcement and both Japanese automakers are staying mum on any actual details. According to The Wall Street Journal , Honda’s entry in the hotly-contested market of India is being referred to internally as the “New Small Concept,” and while it’s intended primarily for emerging markets (think: Tata Nano), the vehicle is being engineered so that it could be sold in other parts of the world
