One individual recently learned firsthand what happens when you remove the factory’s 112-mph speed limiter on the Ford Mustang V6 and proceed to accelerate to 135 mph.

Official: Volkswagen Cross Coupe concept hints at future SUV design

The Cross Coupe concept is the first vehicle, concept or otherwise, that we’ve seen ride on the company’s new modular transverse matrix architecture. More importantly, it may give us an indication of what to expect from the next generation of Volkswagen SUVs.

Rumormill: BMW planning M5 with diesel, all-wheel drive?

But these days the Bavarian automaker offers traction at all four corners on a growing variety of vehicles… including the X5 M and X6 M crossovers.

Report: Volkswagen CrossPassat in the wings?

Filed under: Europe , Crossover , Volkswagen When Volkswagen launched its 2012 Passat , we were a little disappointed to hear that American buyers probably won’t be able to dive into a wagon version and that the company’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system wasn’t slated for the option sheet either. Volkswagen’s engineers said that the platform simply wasn’t suited to putting power to all four wheels, despite the fact that the body tray clearly has a center tunnel to accommodate a driveshaft. Now Autobild is reporting that the German manufacturer may be considering the creation of a Passat-based crossover that would offer all of the storage and go-anywhere goodness of a Passat Wagon 4Motion.
