The Land Down Under has its own unique touring car championship in the form of its popular V8 Supercars series, but the only contestants these days are Ford (with its FPV Falcon) and GM subsidiary Holden (with its HSV Commodore).

NASCAR changes its pace cars about as quickly as it changes tires. Formula One sticks with Mercedes-Benz machinery, and nobody seems to complain very much. In the span of just a few years, the British automaker has launched forays into Formula One , IndyCar , endurance sportscar racing and even karting , all with its own factory-backed works initiatives. And in true Lotus style, it’s not showing any signs of slowing down any time soon.

Detroit: Lincoln MKZ Concept looks to kickstart brand renaissance

Filed under: Concept Cars , Detroit Auto Show , Sedan , Lincoln Lincoln isn’t inspiring many purchase decisions these days, as the luxury make sits in dead last in sales. That could change with the introduction of a few key products, starting with the 2013 Lincoln MKZ . Ford marketing boss Jim Farley introduced the MKZ Concept at the Detroit Auto Show , and we very much like what we see. The concept, which should look a whole lot like the production model that goes on sale later this year, really pops on the elevated turn table.
