In the span of just a few years, the British automaker has launched forays into Formula One , IndyCar , endurance sportscar racing and even karting , all with its own factory-backed works initiatives. And in true Lotus style, it’s not showing any signs of slowing down any time soon.

While it’s certainly too early to even guess at what the big stories for 2012 will be, we can suggest, with a high level of confidence, that what had long been the industry’s established order won’t be the same going forward. In response, the company has announced a series of changes to its business model, designed to address the legality of its service, according to a report in Automotive News . The biggest change is that dealers in some states will now have to subscribe to the lead service rather than paying a per-vehicle fee for sales closed from a TrueCar referral.
