Report: Next-Gen Hyundai Santa Fe will debut in Big Apple

Filed under: New York Auto Show , Crossover , Hyundai Motor Trend reports Hyundai has confirmed that its next-generation Santa Fe will bow at the 2012 New York Auto Show . The third-generation Santa Fe is expected to hit dealer lots by the end of the year as a 2013 model. Hyundai hasn’t disclosed exactly what we can expect from the vehicle when it arrives, though spy shots suggest a vehicle more in-line with the automaker’s current design language.

Spy Shots: Next-gen Hyundai Santa Fe heads for the desert

And that’s just where this Hyundai prototype was heading to undergo hot-weather testing. But on the way, the engineers apparently needed to take a rest, and our intrepid team of spy photographers found this test mule sitting in the parking lot of a motel. The result is our first look at the next-generation Korean crossover.

Kia recalling 58K Spectra models for fuel tank issue, 12K Sorentos for transmission concern [UPDATE]

Filed under: Government/Legal , Recalls , Safety , Kia 2007 Kia Spectra EX – Click above for high-res image gallery The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that Kia is recalling 58,322 2004 through 2007 Spectra models due to fuel tank straps that may corrode over time. The recall, however, is only taking place in northern states that utilize salt on roads during the winter. The NHTSA report says that one or both straps may separate, allowing the tank to make contact with the ground.
