Report: Current Subaru WRX and STI to stick around for a couple of years

Should you prefer to go with something wearing a WRX or STI badge , you don’t have to wait, but you’ll just have to be happy with the current version , as Subaru is reportedly holding off on bringing revised examples of the hi-po Impreza sedans and wagons to market.

The wind was whipping wildly, yet the sun shone brightly on one particular Colorado peak. We imagine if felt like a spotlight for Nobuhiro Tajima – the Japanese Hill Climb pilot managed to reduce his 2007 Pikes Peak record time by just over 10 seconds.

Filed under: Motorsports 2011 Pikes Peak Hill Climb Practice Day 3 – Click above for high-res image gallery This morning, the Unlimited Class cars headed for the bottom portion of Pikes Peak, the sole remaining part of the course that still contains unpaved roads. The three-plus miles of dirt will be paved over before next year’s race, and since we’ll be spending race day at the finish line, this is the last time we’ll ever see the race cars run on the dirt. Sad. The practice session on the bottom third of the course also serves as a qualifying time, which determines the starting order at the official race

As you may recall, the official sponsor of the race dusted off an impressive elapsed time of 19 minutes and 37 seconds while averaging 115.356 mph. If that’s not impressive enough, driver Mark Higgins cracked the 160 mph barrier while blasting through the island course.
