PickupTrucks.com has pointed out that the company’s gargantuan Long-Hauler Pickup Concept rocked an impressive auto-leveling and load-sensing air-suspension package from the people at Kelderman. It’s no secret that Ram has been trying to civilize its full-size pickup offerings. The company recently abandoned the traditional rear leaf-spring suspension setup for heavy-duty coil springs, and the addition of an air-ride option would provide even greater versatility

Motor Trend Truck of the Year? The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD

The 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD was announced as the magazine’s TOTY during a ceremony before the 111th Army-Navy Game at Philadelphia ‘s Lincoln Financial Field on Saturday, giving General Motors’ volume brand a pair of golden calipers to crow about all next year. Chevy’s heavy-duty version of its Silverado pickup truck was significantly upgraded this year, though it faced a tough pair of competitors in the equally improved 2011 GMC Sierra HD and the also-upgraded 2011 Ford F-Series Super Duty .

Ram Trucks now shipping 2011 chassis cabs in North America

They’ll be shipping out to dealers later this month and will come in (deep breath) three weight classes – 3500, 4500 and 5500, three trim levels – ST, SLT and Laramie, three transmissions – six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, and five-speed manual, and two engines – 5.7-liter Hemi or 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel. Ram isn’t playing around with capabilities either, the Chassis Cab boasting the largest brakes in its segment, best standard GVWR and best warranty.

Chrysler wraps Auburn Hills HQ in honor of Truck of the Year award

Filed under: Budget , Truck , Marketing/Advertising , Work , Chrysler , Dodge Chrysler has decided to celebrate the Dodge Ram winning the Motor Trend Truck of the Year award by barring employees at its Auburn Hills headquarters from seeing the sun for 120 days. The company has turned its HQ into one big billboard with a 14-story building wrap. The 140-foot tall, 120-foot wide graphic features a massive 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty atop a pile of rocks. The company says the wrap is part of a nationwide campaign to get the word out about the Ram’s win, and that around 200,000 people will see the display every day as they travel along I-75.
