According to a new book by Hoffa’s former driver and mob goon Marvin Elkind, Hoffa’s corpse rests below the cement foundation of the Renaissance Center .

According to a new book by Hoffa’s former driver and mob goon Marvin Elkind, Hoffa’s corpse rests below the cement foundation of the Renaissance Center . Elkind co-wrote Weasel: A Double Life in the Mob with a Canadian journalist, and according to one passage, reported mob boss Anthony Giacalone told Teamsters delegates to “Say good morning to Jimmy Hoffa, boys,” as he nodded to the foundation of the Renaissance Center during a conference in Detroit in 1985.

Report: "Old GM" quietly dead and buried

Motors Liquidation Co., or “Old GM,” as it became known during the 2009 bankruptcy reorganization, was quietly dissolved on Thursday, Dec. 15, taking the company’s bad debts and liabilities along with it.

Report: Lit Up: GM RenCen wants more LED signs

Filed under: Etc. , GM General Motors is looking to deck the Renaissance Center in more LED lighting, according to a report from The Detroit Free Press . The manufacturer has already installed one ring of the colored lights at the top of its tower and has petitioned the City of Detroit to allow the building to be fitted with vertical LED strips along the exterior elevator of the main tower. GM also wants the city to relax its signage regulations to allow it to scroll messages across the sign at the top of the center tower

General Motors retirees suing for lost benefits

Filed under: GM , Earnings/Financials Part of the reason that General Motors survived its recent bout with bankruptcy is that it greatly reduced the amount of benefits it was paying to its retired workers . Now, more than 100 former GM executives are suing because they feel the automaker owes them dough. General Motors has a plan administrator that examines all the claims made by the retirees. It states that all claims were reviewed and rejected in accordance with the requirements that the automaker needed to navigate through serious debt obligations and Chapter 11 bankruptcy
