In any case, here we are with the Infiniti M35h and Porsche Panamera S Hybrid . Each one is marketed as both a somewhat greener luxury vehicle and a performance sedan. We’d guess it’s the performance side of the equation that would be most interesting to the majority of buyers, leaving fuel efficiency a welcome bonus

Official: Roush announces new performance product line for the Ford F-150

Filed under: Aftermarket , Performance , Truck , Ford We normally associate with Roush Performance with the Ford Mustang , as we’ve tested several examples over the year from the race-ready 427R Trak Pak to the current 540 horsepower RS3 . The Michigan tuner is now looking to expand, though, and has recently introduced a new line of performance products aimed at another segment of the Ford product line, the F-150 . The F-150′s new powertrains are the main focus of Roush’s product blitz, with supercharger systems available for both the 5.0-liter and 6.2-liter V8s.

VW Super Bowl ad teased: 12 dogs bark Star Wars theme [video]

The German brand is preparing their latest commercial for this year's Super Bowl. They have decided to stick with the tried and tested Star Wars theme in this short teaser clip. It features 12 well trained dogs barking the well known them tune.

Poll: Is this Fiat Abarth ad good enough for the Super Bowl?

Filed under: Performance , Marketing/Advertising , Hatchback , Fiat Fiat USA put a video showcasing the 500 Abarth on the Internet last November that tested the bounds of what is doable on network TV. That’s one of the big reasons it hasn’t been put on TV yet. You’ll see what we mean when you view the ad, titled “Seduction,” after the jump . It was the foam that made it iffy for the networks.

Spy Shots: Chevy Corvette C7 prototype spied testing!

Filed under: Spy Photos , Coupe , Performance , Chevrolet The Corvette is the very definition of a halo car, and the fact that 2013 marks its sixtieth year in production is nothing short of a miracle. The seventh-generation Corvette is still a model year away, during which time Chevy plans to send off the C6 with a special edition 60th Anniversary 427 Convertible . Development of the C7 , however, continues at full speed, and we have the very first shots of a prototype being tested in cold weather to prove it. The car in question is wrapped in vinyl covering, underneath which hides the familiar black-and-white swirl paint job we see so often on prototypes.

Report: GM CEO Akerson asked to testify at Volt hearing

Filed under: Hybrid , Sedan , Government/Legal , Safety , Chevrolet It’s a safe wager that no one expected the report of the Chevrolet Volt fire after a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration crash test to turn into a Congressional dressing-down. The short story: NHTSA crash-tested a Volt in May , that car caught fire in June while in storage, and NHTSA alerted the public about the fire in November . Certain politicians have wondered if politics played a part in waiting until November to report the fire, and now a House panel is holding a hearing called “Volt Vehicle Fire: What did NHTSA know and when did they know it?” to find out. According to The Detroit News , the proceedings have now drawn General Motors CEO Dan Akerson into its maw, Akerson agreeing to testify before the panel next week
