Devon GTX up for auction at Barrett-Jackson

Filed under: Coupe , Performance , Auctions , Dodge The demise of the Dodge Viper in 2010 was sad enough on its own. But as if to twist the knife in the wound, the end of the Viper also meant the end of the Devon GTX. A project of independent entrepreneur Scott Devon, the GTX gave the Viper a decidedly more upscale fit-and-finish worthy of its superlative performance. It got an entirely fresh body – complete with exotic upwards-swiveling doors and two-tone chrome/matte finish – and a more polished cabin.

Interestingly enough, though, it appears that Toyota’s luxury division may not be done trotting proproduction LFA Roadsters around the auto show circuit.

Video: Watch a twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo race an Aventador

Filed under: Motorsports , Coupe , Performance , Videos , Lamborghini , Specialty There’s no doubt a stock Lamborghini Gallardo doesn’t have the guts to go toe-to-toe with its more powerful sibling, the Aventador . But make no mistake: That’s nothing a couple massive turbochargers can’t fix. The twin turbos come courtesy of Heffner Performance, and they turn the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera into a monster with more than 600 horsepower force fed through the V10 engine and to all four wheels.

Detroit: Acura NSX Concept portends an efficient hybrid supercar

Filed under: Concept Cars , Detroit Auto Show , Coupe , Hybrid , Performance , Technology , Acura As any Acura diehard would be quick to tell you, a revival of the iconic NSX is long overdue. In true Honda fashion, the automaker decided that, if it was going to go to the trouble of producing a legitimate sportscar, it was going to take on the very best in the industry. Suffice it to say, the NSX delivered the goods.
